Reduction In NOx, Smoke And Particulate Emissions Will Improve Air Quality And Save Lives

  1. LOUIS, March 8, 2016 – Fuel Performance Solutions, Inc. (“FPS” or the “Company”) (OTC BB: IFUE) announced today that it has completed multiple comprehensive laboratory and field trial evaluation processes with major European rail and road transportation operators. These evaluations, which included newly refurbished equipment, both rail and road transport, have provided results demonstrating a reduction in NOx of 8% and a decrease in smoke and particulate emissions of 24% to 45%.

FPS distribution partner Unipart Rail and world renowned rail consultant SNC-Lavalin (formerly known as Interfleet) had integral roles in these evaluations.

“The results of this evaluation process present a huge opportunity for Unipart Rail to market these dramatic emissions benefits not only to the rail industry, but to all consumers of diesel fuel who are truly committed to reducing harmful emissions and their carbon footprint,” said Mike Smith, Unipart Rail Product Manager. “We expect the emissions reducing benefits and proven fuel economy gains of DiesoLiFTTM to continue to present new marketing opportunities for this breakthrough fuel additive technology.”

“Over the past ten years, laboratory testing and field trials have consistently demonstrated that use of DiesoLiFTTM will dramatically reduce harmful emissions,” said Axel Farhi, FPS’s Director of Global Business Development. “Most importantly, recent testing demonstrated an 8% reduction in NOx.”

When NOx and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) react in the presence of sunlight, they form photochemical smog, a significant form of air pollution, especially in the summer. Children, people with lung diseases such as asthma, and people who work or exercise outside are particularly susceptible to adverse effects of smog such as damage to lung tissue and reduction in lung function.

“Use of DiesoLiFTTM also reduces CO2 emissions,” continued Mr. Farhi, “as the more complete and efficient combustion process provides more power and better fuel economy resulting in less fuel needed for the same power output. CO2 emissions are directly correlated to the amount of fuel burnt. Therefore use of DiesoLiFTTM will reduce the carbon footprint of diesel fuel consumers.”

The inherent chemical properties of DiesoLiFTTM facilitate a more complete and efficient burn of the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber which results in less unburnt fuel, hence a reduction in smoke and particulates.

Diesel particulates and smoke emissions have high carcinogenic potencies and represent huge environmental concerns directly affecting the air we breathe. Airborne particulates are a Group 1 carcinogen and are the deadliest form of air pollution due to their ability to penetrate deep into the lungs and blood streams unfiltered, causing permanent DNA mutations, heart attacks, and premature death. In 2013, a study involving 312,944 people in nine European countries revealed that there was no safe level of particulates and that for every increase of 10 μg/m3 in PM10, the lung cancer rate rose 22%. The smaller PM2.5 were especially deadly, with a 36% increase in lung cancer per 10 μg/m3 as it can penetrate deeper into the lungs.[ Use of DiesoLiFTTM will mitigate these harmful drawbacks associated with the consumption of diesel fuel.
